Lee Bowyer’s ex-team to make a pursuit in hopes of signing the Charlton manager

|

It’s always a worrying time when Lee Bowyer is linked to move away from Charlton, it’s something we all fear of actually happening, but time and time again Bowyer has made his feelings known about his intentions to stay at the club and become another Alan Curbishley.

Can you get 25/25 on this former Charlton players quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who is this?

According to The London Evening Standard Lee Bowyer’s ex-team Birmingham City are looking at the possibility of bringing him back to St.Andrews as a manager when Pep Clotet leaves after the season ends.

Bowyer won the Carling Cup with The Blues in 2011 after beating Arsenal at Wembley so he has a good affiliation there but not as strong as Leeds United I would say as he spent 8 years up north.

I would like to think that Bowyer would still want to stay at Charlton, but honestly, with everything going on in SE7 a move to Birmingham might suit him, everything is still quite uncertain, but I think if Peter Varney did takeover in the coming months then Bowyer could stay put.

We have all been waiting for this to happen, he has had to work with a minimal budget and work harder than he probably ever has so it all boils down to the point where enough is enough for him and he wants to take a move elsewhere.

He is a legend for putting up with everything so far and even if he does leave at the end of the season he will be remembered dearly from fans for his desire to make Charlton a successful club that was tarnished by terrible owners, although we still got nine games to see if this campaign can be a successful one.

AS a die hard Charlton fan it would be yet another black day in our history if Lee left. But I would not begrudge him a move if he did go. He has given his all under trying circumstances . I have to pat him on the back in the way he has always carried himself though all of it. He will be a legend no matter what. Stay or go…. he deserves a statue outside The Valley!
