Josh Cullen on why it was so easy to extend his deal with Charlton

|

The West Ham United loanee Josh Cullen has been an integral part of Charlton’s side the past two seasons and he will be playing out the rest of the season with the South-London side and he explains here that it was an easy decision to make.

Can you get 25/25 on this former Charlton players quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who is this?

The 24-year old has played 25 games this season and have scored once and provided one assist in this Championship season, but this has not reflected on how important he has been for The Addicks in the past two years.

He is the glue that holds the midfield together I have said that time and time again, every time he is on the pitch I feel everyone else plays a bit better.

Cullen spoke to the club’s official website about his decision to see out the season with Charlton and here is what he had to say

“It’s strange, there was never a massive decision to make. I knew that as long as the season did get finished, I’d be finishing it with Charlton. It’s been a long journey since my loan last season. We weren’t fancied for promotion by many and we did it. Now it’s my job to do the best I can to help us stay in the league.

“I’ve enjoyed my time at Charlton, loved every minute of it.I feel like I owe it to the people at the club; the fans that backed me from day one and been brilliant, the manager and the staff, everyone around the club – the lads are all fighting for the same goal. I’m looking forward to get started again and finish what we started together.”

He is very respected amongst the fans, “super Josh Cullen” is a song that is belted out int he covered end on regular basis and as much as I want to hear that song for years to come I think he’s time at Charlton will probably come to an end this season, but what a player he has been for us.

Whatever happens in the future Cullen will always be remembered as a great Charlton player.

Sign him for real for next season before some else does.

  • Phillip Williams says:

He is wonderful and has such a great professional attitude. Pity Lyle Taylor can’t be half the person Josh is. Love to see Josh stay but if he can’t then he will be remembered for being a great club man among other good things. Unlike Taylor!
