International party agree price for the sale of Charlton Athletic

|

This takeover is taking a hell of a long time as we all know and once again we have had an update on these on-going negotiations. The fans forum revealed that there is an international party who ‘clearly’ have the money, when they said the words clearly, I thought to myself “sounds like they got a lot of money behind them if they clearly have the money”. It was also revealed that this international party have experience in English football and they have negotiated and agree on a price for Charlton and look as though they are in the driving seat to buy the Addicks.

There’s no word on who these potential new owners could be, but it has been made public knowledge that if they were to get it done they want to get it done before the end of June to prepare for the new season. So, who could these people be? Maybe it’s the former Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi, it was revealed quite a while ago now that he was interested in buying the club, but since he broke the NDA between him and RD by posting a picture on Twitter of him at The Valley with the caption “loading…” it seems as though that deal was scrapped. Another candidate could be the current owner of Southampton who is Katharina Liebherr she currently holds a 20% stake in the club after her Father Markus Liebherr died in August 2010, she inherited his business capital and Southampton was part of that package. At the time of her Father’s death, it was understood that he was worth around £3billion whether or not it’s still around that figure remains to be seen, but that’s one person who it could be.

With a price now agreed the long road to getting Roland out the club is finally underway, whether or not this “international” party is the real deal or not we will have to find out the hard way as we did with Duchatelet, but hopefully it’s different this time around.

    Don’t hold your breath.
How many more sales of our beloved club will be completed imminently, this month, before the transfer window?
Don’t believe a word until Rat has at last deserted the ship.

This news didn’t really excite me , because as usual it’s the fans and those who really care about this club are going to the last to know, anyway who were the last really great owners of this Club, I don’t know, but only supported the Club since 1961 so I have much to learn, how committed would a new owner be if they have had no past ties with the club, they might just get bored and open a fish farm, or try to asset strip the club, the only way forward that will last is a supporters ownership, but who has the money, Blackpool , Coventry and many others have made the dreaded take over a thing of great concern, on the other hand I could be cometely wrong, let’s hope not.
