Dijksteel on his goal against Scunthorpe

|

Anfernee Dijksteel is a player not many people have faith in, but after our recent 4-0 victory over Scunthorpe United, he finally scored his first Charlton goal to open the scoring. Now with recent performances, Dijksteel has started to improve and he definitely has a future here if he wants one, but he has to make sure that he throws himself around in a mature and hard-working manner. Charlton is not a team for people who don’t want to work hard.

Thankfully Anfernee is someone who wants to work hard and here is speaking with the News Shopper

“Even I was surprised when it went in, I didn’t know what to do with the celebration! Lee Bowyer helped me a lot, especially my end product, as it’s not always the best. I feel comfortable at right back now. I’ll just keep trying to do the right things in training and keep doing extras. I just have to work hard.”

At just 22 years old Dijksteel still has his whole career ahead of him and with him improving in every game he’s played this season, the future is looking bright for the Dutchman and I would be glad if Charlton is a big part of his career. You can see it in him he will get a lot better than what he is now.

Every player who has spoken out about Lee Bowyer has said that he has improved them, just goes to show what kind of impact Bowyer offers to the side. At the start of the season I was not very optimistic about the team, but now I feel if we can keep hold of everyone we can go far in the next couple of years.

Keep supporting the lads!
