Charlton reportedly interested in former Crystal Palace midfielder

|

Charlton are looking to boost their options in midfield next season by adding Nottingham Forest’s Ben Watson as his contract will be running out at the end of the month with his future up in the air at The City Ground.

Can you get 25/25 on this former Charlton players quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who is this?

Under Sabri Lamouchi Watson has thrived as a Forest player and he has appeared in every Championship game so far this season whilst scoring 3 times and providing 3 assists as he has become a highly regarded player in his team.

The Athletic are reporting that Charlton amongst other London clubs are interested in taking in the 34-year old after his contract expires next month.

Would you take Ben Watson?

Yes

No

Apparently Queens Park Rangers are also showing interest so we do face competition and we can kiss this rumour goodbye if we get relegated this season.

Watson hails from South London and started his career at local rivals Crystal Palace where he went on to make 181 appearances and has also spent time on loan at QPR so he might tend to go for there, but after spending 7 years as a professional with The Eagles he might not be interested in a move here, although Johnny Williams came here so who knows?

Personally I would love to take him his experience would be brilliant for the young Addicks and I think my faith in older players has been restored through Darren Pratley as he has become a fan favourite.

We are all still awaiting takeover news so transfer news is certainly being taken with a pinch of salt right now, but hopefully, we will have more clarity on the takeover today as there has been delay after delay in Charlton getting the update out.
