“Spoilt with talent” – Charlton fans discuss who they think is the best loan player this season

|

In recent years Charlton been reliant on loan players than ever before, in the Duchatlelt era loans were a regular occurrence in SE7 and it has gone on to the disastrous ESI era also like it always was going to.

Can you get 25/25 on this former Charlton players quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who is this?

However some of the loans we have brought in have left a mark on Charlton fans for years, players like Krystian Bielik, Jay DaSilva, Conor Gallagher, and many others have all been remembered for their short spells at the club and have gone on to other successes in the game.

But for me I think Josh Cullen is a great example of Steve Gallen’s knowledge of the lower leagues (when he was at Bradford on loan) and being able to find a few hidden gems and I think Cullen is the brightest gem of all.

When he’s on the pitch it feels like he’s the glue that holds the midfield together, he has served the club extremely well through the two seasons he has been here and it’s going to be sad to see him go again at the end of the season, however this time I don’t think he will be coming back.

He has managed to become a Republic of Ireland international in his time at Charlton and has started to attract attention from bigger clubs with more financial capabilities, I would love to see Cullen become a permanent player at the club, but that’s just the reality of football sometimes.

You know my favorite so how about yours? We asked the fans on Twitter who they thought was their favorite loan player at Charlton and here is what you all had to say!
