The Addicks have successfully lifted themselves three points off the relegation zone after beating Queens Park Rangers at The Valley.
Can you get 31/31 on this Charlton player of the year quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!
The vital goal was scored by 35-year old veteran Darren Pratley as he headed in Josh Cullen’s corner in the 12th minute.
Charlton didn’t have much possession throughout the game, 35.4% to be exact, but we managed to keep QPR under control and we did get quite a few chances at goal taking 12 shots and getting 5 on target, whilst QPR only managed 6 shots and 1 on target, which does go to show that we did control the game to exactly how we wanted it and that was keeping The R’s in there own half for as much as possible.
What Lee Bowyer is doing here is something that is reminiscent of the 1-0 win against Brentford this season, we did get battered for large parts of that game, but we did keep it under control and managed to keep our cool after going 1-0 up through Conor Gallagher, thankfully we fought to keep it that way.
I have seen something similar in the last two games although we had a lot more chances than what we did against The Bees.
The player’s spirits must be high after getting two results like that, although their fitness levels are probably depleting after the same squad played twice in a row and they have put in some real hard-working shifts so I will expect quite a few changes for the Cardiff game.
The Charlton players reacted on social media after their win against QPR on Saturday and here is what some of them had to say!
