“Only knows 100%” “An influence on the whole squad” – Charlton fans buzz over veteran’s performance

Another game and another win for Charlton as we beat Queens Park Rangers 1-0 on a windy Saturday lunchtime as Darren Pratley blasted his header into the back of the net after Josh Cullen’s corner to send the fans at home absolutely wild!(I hope)

Can you get 25/25 on this former Charlton players quiz? I bet you canโ€™t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who is this?

Darren Pratley put out another hard-working performance for The Addicks yesterday, he was very commanding but did the lose the ball a few times, other than that he did what he does well, that’s the hard work and getting heavily involved with challenges and the physical side of the game to stop many of QPR’s attacks before they became anything of a threat.

His goal was a result of a well-worked corner routine that was set-up by Addicks legend and assistant manager Johnnie Jackson as West Ham loanee Josh Cullen’s corner was perfectly directed to Prats for him to smash a downwards header towards goal which was initially saved, but it came off the post and went in the back of the net, the power on that header was no match for the QPR goalkeeper.

He is certainly a huge contender for player of the season and I think he will be the one to pick up that accolade and to do what he has done at 35-years old takes a lot of commitment and belief in your body to go out there and perform like that week in week out.

We asked the fans on Twitter what they all thought of Darren Pratley’s performance and here is what you all had to say
