Charlton look to get midfielder in on loan

|

After yesterday’s bad news about Conor Gallagher being sent back on loan to Chelsea, Charlton fans have been wondering where the signings are, as we approach another game with our injury-hit squad with no new additions to the squad.

We have a rumour to report from STV as they say Charlton and Sunderland are battling it out to sign Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty after a very successful loan spell at Shrewsbury Town last season which saw him play 50 games, scoring 10 goals and creating 11 assists in all competitions.

Who is this?

It’s not exactly the news we want to be hearing, but by the sounds of it the former Hamilton man does have some talent about him with a decent number of goals and assists in League One last campaign, but it’s a risky move from Lee Bowyer and Steve Gallen if they are thinking of making a move for the Scotsman.

We should be looking at players a bit higher up the pyramid at this moment of time I think as we need people in who know this league and know how to survive in it, but Docherty has never played in the Championship before, however I trust what Bowyer and Gallen and if they feel this is the right man then I back their choice and I hope he does well for us.
