Another Player Charlton Won’t Sign?

Charlton have been linked to, or admitted an interest with a number of players already this summer however our financial position has prevented this from happening.

The latest player that skysports.com is reporting we’re interested in is Jon Otsemobor after the fullback left Southampton, with former Addicks boss Alan Pardew deeming the former Liverpool defender surplus to requirement with The Saints.

Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon Town (our play-off conquerors) and Plymouth Argyle are other League 1 clubs interested in the 27-year-old. For one though we’d not have to worry about matching a fee that others offered, which we couldn’t we simply have to worry about being able to match the wages (or ambition) that others have.

We’ll probably miss out on Otsemobor!

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on links to Jon Otsemobor? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

If he is not good enough for Southampton, even if this is a Pardew assessment, why are we interested? Our financial plight seems to give us little alternative, but to use our better Academy players, such as Solly and Wagstaff, next season. So it would be better to concentrate on them, rather than damaging their confidence, by trawling around for other team’s cast offs.

He’s gone to Sheffield Wednesday anyway.
