Charlton Athletic midfielder Simon Walton has joined the London club’s west London neighbours QPR in a deal worth £200,000.

Walton joined The Addicks from Leeds at the start of last season becoming then new boss, Iain Dowie’s first signing when he splashed out £500,000 on the youngster.

Walton failed to make a competitive appearance for Charlton during his stay in SE7 and last season was loaned out to both Ipswich and Cardiff City.

The defender-cum-midfielder did well in both loan spells scoring 4 goals in a four month stint at Portman Road and helping Cardiff City narrowly miss out on making the Championship play-offs.

The 19-year-old becomes the third Charlton player to leave the club commanding a fee while never actually making a competetive appearence for the club.

Meanwhile Charlton have confirmed that ex-Norwich trainee Dean Sinclair has joined the club from Barnet for a £125,000 fee as earlier reported on Vital Charlton.

Shocking this on – he was class for Ipswich on-loan in the Championship. He seemed more then able to do a good job in the Championship.

I’m surprise at the little money that he went for too.

The kid is a hot head who always gets sent off. Has never looked in Pards plans and i think his attitude got him the boot. Basically this deal paid for Sinclair
