Charlton smashed local neighbours Gillingham 5-0 in today`s pre-season friendly.
After a successful pre season to date where The Addicks are unbeaten, Pardew’s boys showed no letting up as they walked past The Gills.
Pards opted for a strong line up and the boys gelled well and looked like a team good enough to climb back up to the Premiership.
Darren Ambrose struck twice and new man Svetoslav Todorov claimed his first goal in Charlton colours as the Addicks put in a decent day at the office.
Ambrose doubled up in less than 15 first-half minutes and there was plenty to cheer about as the class between both sides was shown.
Andy Reid was involved in the first four goals with a Simon King own goal and a Jerome Thomas penalty completing the rout.
Gillingham’s King first put through his own net and then was sent off for a professional foul before the spot-kick was put away by Thomas.
A good performance by the lads and although it was only the Gills, the boys can only beat what`s put in front of them.
Not long until the season starts and its looking very promising already. Roll on Scunthorpe!
