Virus hits Sparrows Lane as illness sweeps across the training ground

|

If our injury problems were not bad enough as it is a virus has hit Sparrows Lane taking out goalkeeper Dillion Phillips and manager Lee Bowyer.

I remember last season when a virus hit the training ground as Josh Parker and a few others were left feeling under the weather.

Bowyer has been speaking with Richard Cawley from The South London Press on this issue

“Dillon and myself have had it over the weekend. You feel like you have got no energy.

“I’m hoping it doesn’t spread any further because the problem is if someone gets it a little later this week then they could be too weak to play at the weekend. It is just draining and knocks everything out of you.

“If a player got it Tuesday then they’d struggle to play Saturday. We’re low on numbers as it is.”

It is a very worrying situation as literally anyone could be out for Saturday’s away fixture against Queens Park Rangers which needs to a Charlton win after QPR suffered at heavy 5-3 defeat at the hands of relegation candidates Barnsley.

We are now ten games without a win and we need to take all three points home from Loftus Road.
