The trial of Gunnar Thorvaldsson was cut short, however Phil Parkinson is keen to take another look at the striker.

Thorvaldsson injured his hip in our opening pre-season friendly against AFC Wimbledon and returned to Iceland but The Addicks boss is keen to take another look at the 28-year-old, Parkinson told The South London Press: “Gunnar strained his thigh so we`ve had to send him back to Iceland but we will have another look at him.”

We’re in desperate need of a striker so if the Icelandic international can prove to be the one we’re looking for then I’ve got no problem with him returning so Parkinson can take another look at him. It’ll need to be sooner rather than later though.

What is the thought among the Addicks followers on this site on Phil Parkinson’s thoughts on Gunnar Thorvaldsson? Share these feelings below so we can discuss them.

Forget this lad. He, probably, won’t be available for the start of the new season anyway and we are desparate. Pick up the phone to Roy, Parky. Now!

Parky seems to like him though doesn’t he. Was he at Reading when he was there?
