Former Charlton striker Chris Dickson has found himself a new club, in Cyprus!

Dickson’s contact with The Addicks ended this summer and having seen this out, and not been offered a new one the 25 year old has decided to try his hand in Cyprus with a move to second division side Nea Salamis Famagusta.

The challenge of a move abroad excites the striker, Dickson told skysports.com: “I am excited about this new challenge of playing abroad.

“I am happy with the move and I am hoping to help Nea Salamis win promotion back to the top flight.”

Nea Salamis Famagusta were relegated from the top flight in Cyprus last season so Dickson will be charged with scoring the goal to get them promoted again. I wish Chris well, however this seems a strange move to me and I would not be at all surprised to see him leave the Cypriot side before his contract ends.

The fact that Dickson has ended up with a second divsion Cypriot team says it all for me about how “good” he actually is.
