Lewis Page is raring to go after recovering from a long-term injury

|

Lewis Page has been missing through a groin injury he suffered way back in October, but now he feels it’s time for him to make a return and that return could be as close as Good Friday’s day-out at Oxford United. When Page has been playing he has been a superb left-back, unfortunately his injury problems are still quite big for him. If he can put those injury problems behind him and make his body stronger you never know those problems could just go away, but as we all know it’s not as easy as that.

Lewis Page spoke with the News Shopper regarding his injury and here is what he had to say

“I’d like to think I can be involved, that’s obviously not up to me, that’s up to Lee, so we’ll have to see. I think I did OK today, showed that I’ve still got some fitness. I’ll just leave it up to him and do all I can. It was great to be back.”

He seems to be delighted to be back on The Valley turf, where he and Jake Forster-Cakey represented Jason Euell’s U23s team yesterday afternoon in a 3-0 win against Burnley, Forster-Caskey also provided an assist to Alfie Doughty to open to scoring.

I don’t know if Lee would like to bring in Page this late on in the season, only because of how the team have been conducting themselves in recent matches he may not want to break that up, but I’m up for giving Page a chance, I mean after all he is our player and Purrington who hasn’t been too bad is just someone we got in on loan so really I would like to give Page as many games as he can possibly get.

Page continued

“The last month or so I’ve really kicked on, I’ve been out on the grass for about three weeks and done a lot of runs back in training with the boys, so hopefully I’ll get back in and around it soon. It hasn’t been easy trying to speed things up so I’m back before the end of the season. I’ve had this aim to get back, and luckily I am now, so hopefully I can stay fit and help the boys to seal promotion.”

Another player who is fired up and raring to go! I just love the team we got right now, they all have buckets of motivation and they also possess a lot of good qualities, now we just need to go up and seal some contracts.
