Lee Bowyer talks Jason Pearce and Beram Kayal after they suffer injuries

|

With injuries starting to plague the team I think we could all use a bit of good news as we face the giants of the league Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

Fortunately, I have some good news to report and that is skipper Jason Pearce will be fit for the upcoming clash against his and Lee Bowyer’s former team.

Speaking with The South London Press Bowyer gave an update on Pearcey

“With Pearcey his groin was a bit tight, he didn’t really train last week. With three games in a week, I had to be careful with him.

“He’ll be fine for Leeds. My worry on Thursday was it was still tight and he couldn’t train. If I’d played him there is every chance he could’ve pulled it.”

Thankfully we have Jason in the first-team for Saturday because we are really going to need him against this hard-hitting Leeds side, it will be the biggest challenge we have come up against so far this season, but we do have a habit of rising to these big games just like Luton and Portsmouth last season, so hopefully we can take that mentality into this fixture.

If one man is going to embed that into us it will be our captain. He is so good at keeping the defence together and something tells me we will be on the back foot for most of this game so to have him back is massive.

But in true Charlton fashion, good news does not come without a bit of bad news either and that is Beram Kayal is injured again after playing just 12 minutes in Charlton red this campaign

“He has got something wrong with his groin, he pulled out on Friday.”

I hope Beram can get his fitness back this season because he is such a good player and im really excited to see him at full fitness because I’m telling you now this guy can play!
