Lee Bowyer is very optimistic ahead of relegation clash at Hull

|

Lee Bowyer has been preparing his side to come back stronger to fight for survival as the moment we have all been waiting for is just around the corner and I’m sure every footie fan is drooling at the fact that football is almost back!

Can you get 12/12 on this Charlton History Quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who was Charlton's first-ever manager?

Lee Bowyer is a man who is optimistic when his team is looking ready for a fight and this fight starts off with the biggest fight of them all as Hull City sits 2 points above us one place above the relegation zone and Charlton need to win to give us any hope of staying up and it will lift us out of the zone if we were to pick up 3 points at the KCOM Stadium.

Lee Bowyer spoke with the club’s official website and here is what he had to say

“I’m feeling good, very optimistic, very happy to get going again. I’m really looking forward to it. Training has gone well, everything has gone to plan.

“We’re using the week for preparation, we’re tidying up on a few things. In the training games that we’ve played there has been some positives and some negatives, which is expected. It has been a bit of a rush to try and get up to match speed. Trying to cram everything into a three-week period is tough but we’re in a good place taking into account we’ve only been in for three weeks, so I’m delighted. I’m definitely looking forward to getting back and competing for the three points each week.”

Bowyer is hugely confident going into this clash and I certainly think we can get our form back from this game and go on a little bit of a run like we did at the start of the season, just a few wins could be the deciding factor of whether we stay up or not and Saturday’s game is the most important but thankfully we could be going into this match with a full squad.

“Taking into account how hard we’ve had to push them in such a short space of time. We have got a couple of niggled injuries but I’m guessing every team up and down the country have got that. When you look at the Bundesliga when they have gone back playing, it is natural people will get injured because of the length of time that we have got to get them match fit is just not possible. So we’ve got a couple of niggles but hopefully they won’t be out for too long. We might be going into Hull with a full strength squad, so that’s good.”

Bring on Hull.

When the gaffer is this optimistic I think it sends a whole new wave of confidence throughout the fan base could it finally be time to start talking about the football again? We sure hope so!

I’m certainly feeling confident after reading what Bowyer is saying and I just can’t wait for the weekend to begin!

Well he has to sound bullish and yes we supporters hope so too and despite the very big danger that it might not be enough and that word ACTION is needed and we not at all sure if we will have a CAFC and one crisis too many. We obviously hope not and we stay up, because even if we have a club and get relegated the same result.
God knows what the EFL are going to do and what sort of punishment is metered out.
Never a dull moment in my 60 years of support and a very proud Candidate of The Magnificient Valley Party and worked as a volunteer groundsman in the 1960s.
Good luck and good health everyone xxx
