Jonny Williams Pens New Deal

It’s happened, and I couldn’t be happier right now! Jonny Williams is back! Now we know for fact he has taken a big wage cut to be with us and it’s from the fact that he was at Palace 7 months ago and he’s chosen to take a wage cut to stay with us. What a turnaround it’s been for Jonny in the last year!

To be honest I’m way too excited to be writing this article out so I’m going to pass you over to our mastermind of a manager Lee Bowyer, here is what he had to say about Williams signing a new deal.

“I’m delighted to be able to get him back. Jonny, to be fair to him, has dropped his wage a hell of a lot to come here and I’m grateful to him for doing that and I think that just shows how much he enjoyed last season with us. Everyone made him feel welcome from the fans to the players. It’s a perfect fit.”

A perfect fit indeed. From the moment Jonny walked on the pitch to now he has been one of us he may have come from the enemy, but what a man he is taking a huge wage cut to stay with us shows where his true loyalties lie and it’s going to take a lot to top this signing.

Jonny Williams added his own words regarding him signing a new deal

“I’m over the moon to be back with this group of lads, the manager and the staff. I feel at home here, so I’m delighted to sign and I’m really excited about playing for this team in the Championship.”

I absolutely love this man, finally a footballer who is not in it for the money, I love the loyalty this man has given us it’s something we haven’t had for a while, where thebigger clubs come knocking he chooses us over them. Honestly with what has happened today I’m just speechless.
