Inspiring Charlton man issues rallying call for the team ahead of the final nine fixtures

|

The team are in serious need of a pick me up after losing out on the last three games and slipping into the relegation zone, it’s not looking good for The Addicks right now, but Darren Pratley is not letting his side become unfocused as they have done for the last few games.

Can you get 31/31 on this Charlton player of the year quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who won player of the year in 2020?

Prats knows it time to wake up and get some points on the board, however, we had this relegation battle in our hands and we lost it because we couldn’t stay focused enough through the games we have played recently.

We have lost our position of power in this relegation battle and with how the other teams are playing around us right now it’s looking scary, to say the least.

The 34-year old spoke with Richard Cawley from The South London Press and here is what he had to say

“We’ve got nine games to go and we’ve got to pick up as many points as we can, the important thing is that we stick together.

“I’ve been in this situation before – when you don’t stick together and you start pointing fingers, get in your groups and start slagging each other off is when things go wrong.

“The boys need to stay focused for the next nine games and if they are on social media, maybe stay off of it. That would be my advice.

“If you go home and are going on the internet, you’re not going to find nice things when you’re down the bottom.”

Pratley was relegated with Bolton Wanderers in 2016 so he knows all too well about what relegation can do to a club and look at Bolton now, they will be playing League Two football next season.

There certainly is a lack of motivation in the team right now, but stick that armband on Pratley and I’m sure he will get them working hard, if we go down this season the team need to show that they have at least worked their socks off to stop that from happening but right now, we will be going down on bad terms.

As for staying off social media that can only be a good thing as whenever I go on the Charlton Facebook groups or Twitter, it gets seriously depressing and god knows what that must be like for the players.

Now is the time for Charlton to wake up and get this job done, I don’t think the fans could deal with another relegation so let’s stick together and get ourselves back on track!
