Influential Charlton figure sends heartfelt message to youngster

|

Whilst we have all been celebrating our 2-1 win over Barnsley in which was a relegation six-pointer, there is one man in the team who has had to put more strength into his performance on the weekend than the rest of the team did and that player is our man of the match Andre Green.

Who is this?

Sadly Green’s grandad passed away earlier last week and since the club and star striker Lyle Taylor revealed how significant of a performance it was from Green due to the family troubles he has had to endure throughout the week, the strength he has shown on the pitch is admirable and I think everyone at Charlton needs to know this story, you just can’t help but admire him.

Lyle Taylor spoke with The South London Press after the vital 2-1 win against Barnsley and here is what he had to say

“For 45 minutes, or as long as my legs were holding out, me and Dre were a real handful.

“I have to heap praise on him. He’s had a tough week with family stuff.

“For him to turn up and do what he did today – you could see what that goal meant to him.”

Who won player of the year in 2020?

A nice little touch from Taylor there as him and his new striker partner continue to bond together. So far I’ve been impressed with Green he seems like the sort of player who never wants to get off the ball, which is sort of a Leko type player except for Green actually passes the ball.

From what I have seen of Andre so far I am a big fan of him, but I need to see more of him to judge whether we should make a move for the 21-year-old in the summer.
