Heres some potential targets Charlton could sign this summer

|

It’s that time of the year where transfer rumours are floating around like the clouds in the sky and this year will be no different as we head in to the Championship.

The two heavy rumours with a bit of concrete behind them are in fact Tom Eaves and Erhun Oztumer, but what about those one’s going on in the background that are on Bowyer and Gallen’s target list? We all know we have a small budget so we are expecting a lot more free agents to come through the door, so here is a small list of some of the free agents we could potentially sign.

JOSH MORRIS

The Scunthorpe midfielder has attracted some interest from a host of Championship clubs such as QPR, Reading and South London rivals Millwall. The 27-year-old is looking to leave The Irons this summer eyeing a move to the second tier.

I think Morris would be a great signing he scored 11 goals last season in a struggling Scunthorpe side and 20 the season before that, he without a doubt has the quality to make it in the Championship and could even be compared to Erhun Oztumer in terms of his goal scoring ability, getting both of them in would be seen as a fantastic bit of business from Charlton.

JORDAN COUSINS

A name we all know as one of our academy products, Jordan Cousins is a decent holding midfielder who can even drop to right-back if I remember rightly (not that we need any cover there), he has recently been released from QPR and could be open to a move back to The Valley. He scored just the one time in 70 matches at Loftus Road, but that’s not what he is known for.

I would welcome Jordan back to SE7 with open arms, he has the drive to him that not a lot of players do and he could be good replacement for Krystian Bielik if we can’t get him back on loan.

GARY HOOPER

This is a fairly risky one, because Hooper is a good player he’s just had a bit of a tough time of late with injuries and he will probably want to get the final years of his career back on track and Charlton would be a great place for him to do that.

Okay the only thing holding us back from this one would be wages and we do look like we are going to have another season of Roland’s shenanigans so this may be out of our reach financially, but not in quality wise.

BEN AMOS

Another former player in the mix, he was recently on holiday in New York with Dillon Phillips and Jake Forster-Caskey so he is still friends with the team. He would be a welcome addition to the squad and he would provide Dillon Phillips with an immense amount of competition as they are both quality keepers.

This one could very likely happen as Dillon needs some competition that might take him out the team every now and again, with Maxwell he gave Dillon the push to be better, but I think Amos will give him even more to play for.

WILL KEANE

This man has not had the best footballing career, but that does not mean he won’t become good at one point, for a striker he has not scored many goals, although he has enough quality on the ball to be a decent attacker, so if Taylor is injured he could fill in the gap there as a creative forward.
