“He has ability, I think that’s obvious to see” Bowyer on his young prodigy

|

One man who I wish we saw more of this season is Albie Morgan. Albie is only a 19-year-old, but he can still get into the first-team ahead of others very easily, he almost scored on Saturday as well in the goal fest that was against Rochdale. He has a lot ahead of him and under Bowyer’s guidance, he has great things to come for him.

Morgan provided the assist for Lyle Taylor’s goal and Charlton’s third of the game with an absolutely outstanding defence-splitting pass as Taylor slotted it in the back of the net.

Lee Bowyer spoke with the News Shopper about Morgan and here is what he had to say

“He’s been very good, he has the ability, I think that’s obvious to see. His awareness and his cleverness … again, he has to work on his fitness. But his volley that he had and, technically, he’s very, very good. He’s a gifted player. But he has to work on his fitness side of it. He could have scored two or three, so yeah. He’ll score, it’ll come for him. He’s a young lad and he just has to keep working hard.”

I think this is one player that Bowyer will really look out for, I reckon that Lee sees some of himself in Albie, he plays in the same position as Bowyer did, so he has the perfect tutor to guide him further. With the way modern football is I hope he does not get turned by money from a bigger club especially this early in his career, he needs as many games as he can get. Still he has his whole, career ahead of him and obviously a lot of improving, but right now he is a decent player to have in the squad.
