Forster to Carry on. Will it be with Charlton?

Nicky Forster is getting towards the end of his footballing career but the striker, who is on loan with Charlton has no plans to retire just yet.

The Brighton striker is on loan with us until the end of the season, when he will become a free agent. Forster’s priority is to find himself a new club next season, Forster said: “My situation is that I’m looking for employment next season.

“I still think I’ve got some time left in me in the game and I’m looking for an employer, like many others will be at the end of the season, I’m sure.”

Even though he is 36-years-old now because modern day footballers look after themselves better Forster feels that he has plenty to offer someone next season, he added: “With the warm-downs and the diet and massage and things like that nowadays, it’s easier to go beyond that golden age of 35.

“The clock does start ticking when you hit that 35, but as long as I stay mobile and enthusiastic on and off the training ground, then that gives you that buzz to want to succeed still.”

Forster has always known where the back of the net is and I think that he’ll still be able to do a job for someone next season but I’m not sure it’ll be at SE7?

He’ll carry on playing but could he carry on for us in The Championship? And The Championship is where we hope to be next season!

I’ve been quite impressed by Forster and think he’ll score a few more goals before the season is out but I don’t think he’ll be here next season.

As I expressed in the article, if we make it into The Championship I can’t see Forster staying. If we stay in League 1, which I hope isn’t the case then there is every chance.
