Excitement arises as the return of a major player is on the horizon

|

So after the midweek antics with Josh Cullen reportedly injured in training thankfully coming out as false, we now have the complete opposite news to report to you all.

Before I go any further, I apologise for the post about Cullen the other day I was given wrong information, but stuff happens and we move on.

So with Josh Cullen he has been out injured since the Cardiff City game in November and we have been missing his presence in midfield like lungs miss oxygen and to hear that he could be returning against Preston North End is a huge sigh of relief as our injury woes start to get a lot better ahead of the next game.

Lee Bowyer spoke with Richard Cawley from The South London Press and here is what he had to say

Who is this?

“It might be a bit too soon for this weekend.

“But if you think when he did his shoulder he was out for longer than three months and I chucked him back in and he did 90 minutes. The kid’s a machine.

“There is a good chance if he gets through the next couple of days that he’ll be travelling with us to Preston.

“Our bench will be stronger. Jonny Williams is back, Jake Forster-Caskey will come in at the weekend and Erhun Oztumer has been training all week. Tomer is back as well.

“I’ll have to speak to our medical department to see what they can do.”

At least the injuries have calmed down massively and we actually have a chance of getting a full squad with no youth players in it. Saying that the experience that the youth have had this season will be invaluable to them going into their careers.

With ESI still yet to make a decision on Josh Cullen, all Charlton fans are hoping that the West Ham man will come back as a permanent Charlton player for next season as he is instrumental in our midfield.
