Early team news for Charlton’s home fixture against Reading

|

It seems like we talk a lot about injuries but after the traumatizing events of the injury crisis we endured this season, I think things like that will be on our mind for a long time and ahead of our game against Reading we are talking injuries once more.

Can you get 20/20 on this Charlton Academy Players quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who is this?

Lee Bowyer has revealed that Andre Green could miss out on tomorrow’s lunchtime clash at The Valley against The Royals as he looks to have a problem with his toe, also on the injury front, Tomer Hemed will be back in the squad after being rested.

It’s smart of Bowyer to rotate the squad like he has been doing it’s keeping injuries down to a minimum and the squad looks very fit when out on the pitch although the quality sometimes can be lacking.

Lee Bowyer spoke to Richard Cawley from The South London Press and here is what he had to say

“Greeny is the only one who is struggling, he’s got something wrong with his toe and has got to have an injection in it, or he has had an injection already.

“Tomer will be back in the squad. I know we’ve only got four games left but if we had involved him Tuesday he could’ve got injured and then we’d only have had Chuks and Macca for the last four.

“We couldn’t take that risk. He’ll be okay now. It was his first 90 minutes in a long time, against Millwall.”

A lot of people slated Hemed’s performance in the Millwall game, but if you all don’t mind me saying I thought he did quite well, his finishing could have been better, but when he was strutting his stuff on the ball he looked decent, I just hope that he has at least one goal in him this season.

Andre Green on the other hand provides much-needed pace up top as all of our strikers are almost the same in terms of physicality, so would be good to change things up a bit.

Lewis Page will also be out of this game as he steps up his training next week.
