With the odds well stacked against Alan Pardew`s men, we have to beat the teams around us to stay in the league.

3 points on Saturday would help us pull away from West Ham and Watford and close the gap on Wigan to just 3 points.

With games coming up away to Watford and at home to Wigan the Addicks have every chance of taking nine points from the three teams we are fighting for survival.

The performances of late have been a massive improvement even though the points haven’t come from the Chelsea and Man Utd games.

Since the win at Portsmouth and the draw away to Bolton Alan Pardew’s side have got a new sense of belief and a bit of confidence.

Saturday will be no easy game, Alan Curbishley will be returning to where he has made his name as a manager. I do feel sorry for Curb’s as he has been at the hammers for 5 minutes and already the media are starting to turn on him. Alan Curbishley is a great manager and what he did for us in his 15 year stint as boss speaks for itself. I for one will give him the ovation he deserves.

The game should be a real good one with goals aplenty. West Ham always play attacking football, although knowing Curbs he will set out his stall to counter attack.

Charlton are boosted by the news that Luke Young and Darren Bent will return. This can only be good news for us and both are vital if we want to stay up.

The players should be fresh and raring to go as we haven`t played for 2 weeks. The trip to Spain last week hopefully will bring the attractive and flowing football we fans enjoy.

The fans MUST get behind the boys right from the first whistle. The support at the Chelsea games was unreal but this Saturday we need to be ten times louder. Every fan needs to sing from the heart because on Saturday at 3pm we are the twelfth man.

Come on you reds.
