Charlton star on late leveller at QPR

|

What a way that was to mark off your 100th Addicks appearance! Cult hero Naby Sarr’s performances before the last few games have been very subpar in terms of his defensive work, but none of that mattered when he slotted home in the 95th minute against Queens Park Rangers on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

Naby’s attacking work of late has been superb he goes forward with what looks like a confusing, effective run into the centre of midfield only reason I’m saying confusing is because when he runs in there he looks like he’s not sure where he’s going to put the ball although it works out more often than not.

Speaking with The South London Press Naby had this to say after his second goals in two games

“I’m happy, especially as the first goal was because of me, I should have cleared it better. I’m happy that I scored this goal. It’s always good to score, especially in front of more than 2,000 Charlton fans. That was a great feeling.

“The guy flicked it in behind. I was there, tried to have a great touch and I just finished it. I shanked it a bit but it still went in. I’m happy.

“When we’re chasing to score, sometimes we [push Sarr forward]. It’s not always that I score in the last minute but today I did it and I think everyone is happy about this point.

“I think they could have won the game in the first-half and we could have won it second-half. I think the draw is a fair result, even though we wanted the win of course. But we’ll take a point.

Sarr continued to talk on his 100th appearance for Charlton

“To play 100 games for a club, I think you should be proud. I am very proud of this. Now I want even more, I’m looking forward to the rest.”

One thing I have heard a few people chatting about a while back was could Naby Sarr ever become a Charlton legend? Now that is mad to think that some people are considering him as somewhat of a legend after the way he started his Valley career. I don’t think it will ever go that far but if it does it would be around the Carl Leaburn sort of legend status, some will certainly know what I mean.

Do you think Naby Sarr will ever become a Charlton Legend?
