Charlton man bemoans the last eleven games as Charlton still search for a win

|

The last eleven games have been excruciating especially after the luck we have had with injuries, the games are coming thick and fast and with our thin squad struggling to cope with the work rate it takes in this league it’s evident that we need more players.

Naby Sarr would have had three in his last three if his goal against Huddersfield was allowed to stand as it was not even offside, but the thing is the same kind of thing happened with his equaliser against QPR when it came off a defender and went into Naby’s path.

Naby spoke with The South London Press and he had this to say

“So many games, we’ve deserved more than losing or just a point, last Friday (against Hull), we deserved a win but conceded a last-minute goal. It’s a long season, we just have to keep going. We’re coming into a period where there is a lot of games so we just have to focus, stay on it and I’m sure things will turn around.

“I think we made it difficult for ourselves. We shouldn’t have been in that situation, we should have done better. It is what it is, it’s football. Normally it’s us who concede on 95 minutes.”

“We started [the season] very well but we had so many injuries that we maybe had to play some players not in the right position.”

In this tough time, we just have to be patient with the players I’m sure our tight squad are very tired from the last few games especially playing twice in midweek last week so the eight-day rest was well deserved for the team.

What we need now and I can’t believe I’m saying this is an international break, the next one will not come until March which is a big shame and shows work needs to be done in January in hopes of securing our Championship status.
