Charlton sign Welsh international on a free

|

Well a couple of days ago no one was expecting this to happen, but Joe Ledley has signed for Charlton after Lee Bowyer is looking for reinforcements as the injury crisis hits breaking point at Sparrows Lane.

Ledley was reported to be training with The Addicks in a bid to earn a contract at The Valley as he knows Jonny Williams from Crystal Palace and the Welsh squad so it was not hard for him to get a trial here.

Joe is a very experienced player making 83 appearances in the Premier League for South-London rivals Crystal Palace whilst also scoring 6 goals in his time at Selhurst Park.

Unfortunately, Joe Ledley made just a handful of appearances last season for Derby County under Frank Lampard and was subsequently released at the end of the season.

Ledley will be available for tomorrow away trip up north to Middlesbrough and will wear the number 16 shirt as Bowyer adds an experienced midfielder to his ranks.
