Charlton receive massive player boost ahead of season restart

|

A lot of bad news has been circulating around the club of late and none of it seems to have the end game firmly in sight, however this will put a smile on your face as Josh Cullen’s loan deal has been extended to ensure he will be able to complete all nine remaining fixtures with The Addicks.

Who is this?

Cullen’s original deal was meant to expire at the end of June but Charlton and West Ham have agreed on terms with an extension for the Republic of Ireland international.

This great news was announced on the CAFC Website this afternoon and it comes at a very welcomed time where we all needed a boost.

The 24-year old spoke to the club’s official website after announcing his contract extension and here is what he had to say.

“It was quite straightforward for all parties involved, there is still a job to be done. There are nine massive games to go and it was always in my head to be a part of that. You want to finish what you started and it’s been a long journey up until now, but it’s not finished.

“It was a straightforward decision and I feel like I owe it to the club. The fans have backed me from day one and been brilliant to me.

“Everyone around the club, the manager, the staff and the players are all fighting for the same goal so I’m really looking forward to the season getting restarted and finishing strong.”

Josh Cullen has made 25 appearances in the league for Charlton so far this season and has scored once from the penalty spot and has created one assist, but that does not reflect on how important he is in the middle of the park.

I am absolutely delighted with this news and I’m happy we will be retaining his services for the remaining fixtures as if we didn’t have him as well as losing Lyle Taylor then we might as well kiss our survival hopes goodbye, but this team have a huge job to do and this is one step closer to what we want!

Get him signed up for next season before some on else does.

When the going gets tough…..the tough get going……good for you Josh a proper bloke. It’s a shame that Taylor isn’t made of the same stuff.
