Last week ended on the highest of highs as Charlton announced a takeover deal with East Street Investments which is headed up by Abu Dhabi businessman Tahnoon Nimer and with plenty of money behind him Charlton fans finally had a future to shout about.
However today a tweet went out stating that the EFL had rejected ESI’s ownership of Charlton Athletic Football Club and since then Charlton fans have been on red alert to any little bit of news we can get our hands-on.
Rumour on into the valley the EFL have turned down the takeover..! #cafc

Something like this cropping up seems very typical of Charlton and the EFL so this was quite believable at the time and looking at the Into The Valley Forum and seeing a moderator post about this was something that we were all fearing.
Thankfully the ever so reliable Richard Cawley put out a tweet earlier stating that this is not the case whatsoever.
There have been rumours that ESI takeover bid has been rejected by the EFL. I’ve been told that is absolutely NOT the case and that EFL have been very accommodating in changing their diaries so interview process is this week.
