Charlton man gives significant update on his return to full fitness

|

It’s great to finally see Lyle Taylor almost fully fit and scoring once again as it was confirmed after deadline day that Lyle Taylor will spend the remainder of the season with Charlton after Matt Southall promised fans that he will not be sold and he has delivered on that promise!

Who was Charlton's first-ever manager?

Taylor has had an injury-ravaged season so far starting with the knee ligament injury he sustained while on international duty with his home country and Carribean island, Monserrat which took him out of action for exactly thirteen games where he was sorely missed through most of it.

The second injury he ended up with was just a thigh problem which took him out for two games and now he is finally approaching full fitness as he completed 68 minutes in our 2-1 win over Barnsley at the weekend.

Speaking with The South London Press Lyle Taylor had this to say

“I just need to get fitter, I started cramping just before half-time, minor little cramps, but after half-time my legs were going – I couldn’t sustain that level of effort.

“Dre did a lot of my running. He deserved to get the three points and definitely deserved the goal.”

Taylor continued to talk about his goal

Who won player of the year in 2020?

“It’s a poacher’s goal, it’s a striker’s goal. It’s always nice striking the ball in the top corner from 25 yards but the ones from five, six, seven or eight yards, they are the nice ones.

“You have to be in the right place at the right time. It’s a ball in the box, you hope someone gets up and wins the first one and then I stuck it beyond the keeper. You ask questions if you’re onside or offside later.”

He sure slotted it in front of the away end with such calmness and class as he struck his eighth goal of the season, there is still a lot more to come from our star man this season, make sure you keep an eye on him!
