Charlton duo suffer injury setbacks ahead of QPR

|

Some more bad news to bring to all you beautiful Charlton fans today on this fine Thursday morning and the bad news is that Jonny Williams and Sam Field have both suffered injury setbacks! WHAT A SUPRISE!

Jonny looks to be out for another couple weeks after suffering an injury during training on Tuesday and Sam Field stubbed his foot in the ground and twisted his knee whilst training with parent club West Bromwich Albion, just our luck!

This news is absolutely gutting and im honestly more upset about this news than earlier’s expected blow.

Lee Bowyer spoke with Richard Cawley this morning for The South London Press and here’s what he had to say

“Jonny trained last week and had a airshot, he felt his hamstring was a bit tight. He didn’t train on Wednesday and Thursday and we had to pull him out of the Hull match.

“We think he has tweaked his hamstring from the airkick. It is a grade one, so they reckon a couple of weeks.

“Sam Field was doing his last day of training at West Brom on Tuesday and his foot got stuck in the grass and he’s tweaked his knee again. He twisted the wrong way and his foot got stuck.

“He was in normal training, all of his rehab was done but they wanted to give him a couple of days training before they sent him back to us, just so they knew he was all good.

“He got through the first day and then got injured on the second day.

“He is having a scan and we’ll see how bad it is.

“So we have no players coming back. The nearest one to coming back is about two weeks.

“I just hope we don’t pick up any more. If we started losing more then we’re in real trouble.”

The tough period has been extended, but the quicker we can get these two back the better because we have clearly been missing Williams the most out of them all.
