Bowyer reveals a positive injury update

|

Calm down it’s happening Lyle Taylor is back! The trip up to Middlesbrough will see the returns of Lyle Taylor and Chuks Aneke to the first-team squad and us as fans could not be happier to finally see the blonde-haired hitman back on the pitch.

Of course, he won’t be starting this weekend, but he will be on the bench and is expected to get at least 20 minutes into him and the same with Chuks too, let’s just hope he doesn’t run like he’s dragging a piano along with him anymore.

Lee Bowyer spoke with Richard Cawley from The South London Press this morning and here is what he had to say

“Chuks and Lyle have got through all the fitness stuff and they are training with us today, hopefully today and tomorrow they come through okay and they will be on the bench at the weekend.

“I can’t go mad with them and give them too many minutes on Saturday, but at least we’re moving forward. They are back out there and we can start blending them in.

“There will be a bit of seniority on the bench to come on, attacking wise.”

It’s about time we have heard something good in terms of injuries, so far this season the injuries have been a woeful experience and questions need to be asked about the medical staff whether they are doing their job properly or not?

I did see an advertisement that Charlton was looking for a new physio, but still I don’t know much about that sort of thing I know they all work to the standard Bowyer wants them to, but maybe they just need a bit more help back there hence the vacancy.

Let’s hope Taylor is fully fit by next weekend as we take on Huddersfield at home, but it’s more likely it will be the Hull Cty game which kicks off on Friday 13th (oh god).
