Bowyer demands face-to-face contract talks

|

Some more news on Bowyer’s contract and he is set to talk with Duchatelet’s errand boy Lieven De Turck over the situation surrounding his latest contract offer which he is set to turn down due to it being “incentivised” which could mean anything. Maybe it’s Roland cutting the costs again, but that word incentivised does not sound good, it almost sounds as if the contract contains something like if you win the first five games you get a free night in a hotel or something like that, it sounds ludicrous but with Roland being Roland you can really expect something like that being on the table.

Speaking with South London Press’ Richard Cawley, Lee Bowyer had this to say

“I’ve just gone back to Lieven, who is dealing with it, and said: ‘Can we just have a meeting” he has given me a couple of dates and we’ll go through that. It’s better to do it face to face, it’s easier.”

I’m glad Bowyer really wants to get this over the line, it’s a good feeling when there are people who generally want to stay at the club for the club and the fans and I know Bowyer is the man for the job, I haven’t been this confident in a manager for a long time and we really need him.

Hopefully, these contract talks will go smoothly, and we can look to the future with Bowyer as our manager.
