3 players rumoured with Charlton for a January transfer

|

It’s no secret we need a huge revamp in the squad after we fell to our fourth defeat in a row on Tuesday night as Huddersfield struck painfully late to secure all three points.

But now we take a look at the players who have been linked with Charlton since August and the possibility of signing them with our new budget in place.

Ivan Toney

After a failed £4million bid in August from Charlton, Ivan Toney has been working wonders for Peterborough United with 12 goals in 20 games for The Posh.

His previous clubs are Northampton, Newcastle, Barnsley(loan), Shrewsbury(loan), Scunthorpe(loan), Wigan(loan) and Peterborough.

Just recently this deal has kind of gone out of our hands in terms of a transfer fee as Peterborough’s owner Darragh McAnthony states he is ‘confident’ of keeping the forward this January and even slapped a huge £13million price tag on his head.

The possibility of this transfer is very slim, but he is someone who is on the radar.

Here’s another striker who has been on the scene for Charlton rumours for quite some time now and the Aberdeen attacker is starting to attract a lot of interest as his 18 goals in 24 games in all competitions has earned him his popularity.

His previous clubs are Wigan, Barrow(loan), Chorley(loan) North Ferriby(loan), Carlise and Aberdeen.

Although there was some word that Steve Gallen had said Charlton are not interested in him, there is still a chance we could go in for him with the money we have now.

The possibility of us signing him is more or less 50/50.

Abu Eisa

The brother of Mo Eisa, Abu is a winger for Scunthorpe United and has made 14 appearances for the League Two strugglers this season.

This is an interesting one because I have heard from reliable sources and non-reliable sources also that Abo is a player Charlton are looking at and are looking for the right time to pounce on him.

His previous clubs are Uxbridge, Wealdstone, Shewsbury, Colchester(loan) and Scunthorpe.

He has scored five goals this season and created two assists in all competitions.

If we went in for him now we would get him without a doubt, whether he has that quality to succeed in The Championship is a whole different story.

Who would you rather?
