This mans time at The Valley has been cut short

|

He may have been a slightly inconsistent performer, but I’m telling you now we will be missing him now he’s gone, Jonathan Leko has been ruled out for the season after suffering an ACL injury against Queens Park Rangers.

It really is such a shame that he’s not going to play another game this season as I felt that he was really starting to get used to how we play and he was improving himself so this injury has come at the most typical of times.

Lee Bowyer spoke with The News Shopper about Leko’s season-ending injury and here is what he had to say

“He jumped, landed, jolted his knee a bit [and from that] he’s done his ACL. He’s out for the rest of the season and going into next season.

“We’ve had four knee injuries between the start of the season and now, before Christmas. Four knee injuries. Like, you don’t even get two in a season … he just landed funny.

“I feel sorry for the lad because he was doing well for us.”

Now that this has happened we have to look to the future, of course, Leko’s loan will be cut short and will be sent back to The Midlands, but now we have a free loan space to take up and we could move for someone slightly better than Leko if this takeover goes through.

We will be able to offer the team more wage percentage on the loan deals in the future and with Leko being sent back and Kayal possibly going back too we could really utilise the loan market once again with some young upcoming talent from The Premier League.
