Tahnoon Nimer releases message after Charlton takeover announcment

|

Well, we were all waiting for an update today weren’t we? We finally got it this evening and Tahnoon Nimer has handed over the club to a consortium headed up by his lawyer Chris Farnell and now a fresh start could be (but probably not) on the horizon!

Can you name all the Charlton players who have worn these shirt numbers? I bet you cant but feel free to prove me wrong!

Who wore the number 4 shirt in the 1998/99 season?

It has been an absolute disaster reign when the truth came out about the boardroom spat a few months ago and since then it’s been like a soap opera at The Valley and it is seriously embarrassing to have something like that going on at a football club let alone our football club who have had to endure year after year of rogue ownership.

Whilst everything is coming out now, Tahnoon Nimer has taken to his famous Instagram account to confirm the takeover and here is what the outgoing Charlton owner had to say

“We are all happy with the prospect of the season restarting again soon and I hope that all of our fans and families are safe and well during this difficult time. I am sure we all look forward to continuing the campaign in the Championship and a strong finish to this season to ensure the Clubs Championship status for next year.
You will all be aware of the recent Boardroom events , which, with this announcement we can now put behind us. I have made the difficult decision, having received advise , and listening to the fans wishes,  to hand the Club over to a consortium that will have sufficient time and be in  a position to take the Club forward  and I would like to reassure you all that I have at all times sought to do all that is right for our Club and its fans. I have made this decision to ensure the Club is in the best position to move forward and re-establish itself into footballs elite.”

Are you happy with the latest takeover news?

Yes

No

He is defiantly acting like he has still got a little bit of a say in Charlton when he says ‘we’ it just seems strange like he’s not actually going anywhere, but with the recent news it does seem like Nimer is gone for good, but if this post is anything to go by we should have some decent owners, although it is coming from Nimer so who knows.

The next few weeks will be very interesting indeed or it could be heartbreaking you never know with Charlton anymore.
