Charlton have officially announced that there could be job losses as the club look to cut operating costs.

Failure to secure and instant return to The Championship has made our financially position worse, this has meant cuts have been needed on the playing side of things (both with those released and those being sold) and at boardroom level cuts are being made too.

Now members of staff have been warned that they face the risk of being made redundant, managing director Stephen Kavanagh told The Official Website: “As a consequence of the team not regaining Championship status, we have to put in place plans for life in League One next season.

“This has necessitated more cuts in operating costs across the whole club, with every line of every department’s budget being scrutinised, and these affect both football and non-football staff.”

Now redundancies have yet taken place and the club have said that if they can avoid this by finding “alternative ways to achieve the required budgets” they will. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for those that this could concern.
