Players have been released to cut costs, others will go and staff have been warned that they could lose their jobs but this hasn’t stopped us looking to bring in fresh playing staff.

The latest name thrown into the ring is Will Hoskins with Skysports.com reporting that the striker is close to sealing a deal to come to The Valley?

Hoskins is a striker (highly rated according to Skysports.com) that has played for England at various levels up to U20 level and is someone that Phil Parkinson wants to add to his squad to bolster our depleted striking options.

The 24-year-old left Watford this summer at the end of his contract.

Surely you don’t need SkySports to tell you how promising Hoskins was. I say was because the Watford move didn’t really work out. Cracking spell at Rotherham.

Did I read “depleted” striking options…in my mind I would use the word unsatisfactory, or something far too rude to print here….any other suggestions to replace the word depleted with?
