Football is finally back! Well not back back at least anyway as it is lacking the only ingredient that can create an atmosphere and that is the fans, however that didn’t stop the mighty Addicks securing all three points away at relegation rivals Hull City.
Can you get 15/15 on this Charlton Athletic General Knowledge Quiz? I bet you can’t, but feel free to prove me wrong!
Skipper Jason Pearce scored the winner in a hard-fought outing against The Tigers and made sure that Charlton lifted themselves out of the relegation zone.
It was revealed by Louis Mendez on Twitter that Peacey had not stayed over with the team in Hull the night before as his wife is pregnant, he then proceeded to leave the house at 7 in the morning to turn up for the game and then he ended up scoring the winner to lift us out of the drop zone. What a story! Pure commitment from the captain, showing a great example to the younger lads.
The squad stayed over in Hull last night – apart from Jason Pearce. His wife is due any day now so he stayed at home before driving up north at 7am this morning and then scoring the winner.
Commitment from the skipper 👌🏻#cafc https://t.co/BqgV33zWhl

The game had some good individual performances from players like Deji Oshlaja, Albie Morgan and Aiden McGeady but there were two other players who do not normally perform to the standard we require and that is Tomer Hemed and Chuks Aneke.
They performed to a level we all expect and they both gave 100% and that is all we ask for as Charlton fans, justify your pay packet and work for the team.
We asked the Charlton fans on Twitter what they thought of the team’s performance and here is what you all had to say!
Played well! Some surprises with the lineup today too but all players worked hard and as they always say in the press conferences ‘We compete in every game and we look to the next game now’ COYRS #cafc

Think your headline is a bit misleading!
0-1 is hardly sweeping the opposition aside but a wins a win and I’m sure we’re all happy with that.
