Parkinson Post Sheffield Wednesday

Charlton recorded an impressive 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at The Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Former Addick Nicky Weaver was only beaten the once, having frustrated us at others times but once was all that was needed with Scott Wagstaff’s goals winning us the points. Phil Parkinson believes that we deserved to win and the balance between attack and defence was right and this is what won us the match, Parkinson told BBC London 94.9: “I’m very pleased, I though it was a solid performance today.

“We probably got the balance right between being solid as a team and playing some good football and showing some creativity.

“The team showed a lot of good characteristics today and we’re all very pleased.”

It’s taken a while (and maybe the Brighton thrashing gave us the wakeup call that was needed) but have we finally found the right formula to give us a consistency level that we need?
