Jonathan Obika is no stranger to going out on loan from parent club Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old has had no fewer than nine loan spells during his short career to date.

In 2009 he had his first of four loan spells with Yeovil Town where he spent the majority of the last couple of seasons in League One.

He’s also had spells with Millwall, Crystal Palace, Peterborough and Swindon before arriving at the Valley last week.

Despite his quick arrival he made it into the match day squad at the weekend and made a late substitute appearance against Nottingham Forest. It was only his third appearance of the season after just two appearances in the FA Cup and Capital One Cup for Tottenham.

Obika is now looking forward to a good weeks training ahead of the game against Burnley on Saturday.

“It`s been good, It was nice to see the lads on Saturday and Monday was a proper introduction. Saturday was weird at the start, it was quite crazy as I know a few people from Yeovil and also David Button who was at Spurs so I was welcomed well.’ said Obika to cafc.co.uk.

He continued: “I`ve played at The Valley with Yeovil and in youth cup game few years back. It was nice to see the stadium again but I`ve never seen it as packed. It was a good buzz.

“Monday was like a normal day of training. It was good to see new lads and a different way of playing and I`m just looking forward to continuing training and the game on Saturday.”
