Charlton Athletic currently face the fight for their lives as we gear up in preparation to battle for survival in the Championship and what is most important is that the players are focusing heavily on the task at hand, it’s not going to be easy, but we can do it.

Who is this?

The Addicks face relegation rivals Hull City on Saturday in a match that could determine Charlton’s Championship status, if we win we go one point ahead of The Tigers and climb out of the relegation zone, if we lose then Hull get a massive five-point advantage over us.

A lot of pressure for the team to take in, but Lee Bowyer has said many times before that the lads are fearless.

The Charlton manager spoke to The London Evening Standard and here is what he had to say

“”It is going to be tough, there is no getting away from that. But as a group we have a good togetherness and a good fighting spirit. We have been under pressure before. Last season I think we would have learned a lot under pressure situations.

“Some teams, once we get to the nitty gritty, like from Saturday, some players are not going to be able to handle the pressure. That is just natural. Some will grasp that pressure, some will fade away from it. I know my group will stick together and come through it.”

This team can certainly surprise many teams and we are going to need that element of surprise when we return to action. Bowyer knows his squad well and I know he can get the best out of those players and I’m confident he will do it all again.

“This is in the players’ hands now. Everything that has gone on behind the scenes this season, that is nothing to do with what is going to happen now. We have had to come even closer and I know the players will have given me 100 per cent.”

I think Charlton can nick a 1-0 win from the Hull game, if we can get in and get out I think that would make for a good result to build off we certainly need a good three or four wins to have any chance of getting out of this mess.

The battle starts on Saturday, give it to them lads!!
