Lee Bowyer provides an update on Tomer Hemed

|

There is one thing on everyone’s minds since the transfer window slammed shut, will Tomer Hemed sign for Charlton?

Whilst those answers are still in the pipeline, Lee Bowyer was asked in his press conference today about that deal and here is what he had to say.

“The only thing I can think is maybe they are dealing with the problems at Bury and Bolton. That’s the only thing I can think of as to why they haven’t come back to us, which is wrong because it is the boy’s career.

“He is contacting Steve Gallen every day, two or three times a day, asking what is going on. We can’t give him answers because we aren’t getting any answers.”

Lee is 100% right about this and whilst there are problems at Bury and Bolton, surely it shouldn’t take too long to just call up Charlton, Brighton and Hemed to say “we sanction this move”.

Personally, I just feel that this should have been sorted on deadline day or at least on Monday as Charlton put out an update on the weekend saying that they should have word on what is going on by Monday morning.

Once again the incompetence of the higher-ups of football continues to cast a rather bleak shadow over a situation that should have been sorted a week ago.

Lee Bowyer added to his words on the Hemed situation

“Steve Gallen is dealing with it. We think we’ve done it correctly. But if their focus is on other things it is wrong, it doesn’t take that long. Now it has been a week. It shouldn’t take a week to say yes or no.”

“Even if they say no then we’re going to appeal it. So just get the process going. If they say no then say no and we go to an appeal. It suits everybody to do the right thing.”

“The kid wants to come here, we want him here and Brighton want him here. It just doesn’t make any sense.”

The only positive I can see out of those words Lee Bowyer said is that the Israeli international wants to play for us and with Beram Kayal also here a good partnership could be had with those two.

It’s just a real shame that it’s gone the way it has as he could have played two games for us, but the incompetence of the associations in football really needs to be looked at.
