Injury Update Ahead Of Swansea Visit

|

Manager Lee Bowyer has provided us with an injury update ahead of the Swansea clash on Wednesday night, we have a new player joining the injury list as it starts to worryingly build up.

That new name is Tomer Hemed. Lee has confirmed he will be out for around 2 weeks with a thigh strain and will miss tomorrow’s encounter at The Valley.

Beram Kayal is also still out with a groin problem and is likely to miss the next 3 to 4 games, it’s not a huge loss because we have only seen him play 12 minutes of football for The Addicks and with our midfield as strong as what it is we shouldn’t have a problem with him out.

Ben Purrington has been playing on with a calf injury and has been doing well despite being injured, he will be assessed before tomorrows game.

Speaking with The South London Press Lee Bowyer had to say about his injured players

“Tomer is going to be a couple of weeks and so is Beram – he has had to have an injection and we think that is going to be a couple of weeks.”

“Last week he trained more, he felt a bit better than the Saturday before that. For the Wigan game he didn’t train Monday-Thursday, he only trained on the Friday.

“Last week he trained Tuesday and Thursday and was a bit sore on the Friday. He didn’t do anything on Monday, he just stayed inside doing other work.

“We’ll have to see if he trains on Tuesday. He can’t just turn up Wednesday and play. He needs to run around before that.

“He is doing well to get through it for us.”

The injury list is starting to become quite sizeable, with Lyle Taylor and Tomer Hemed now out we need to make sure we look after Macauley Bonne as he had a decent performance against Leeds on Saturday and could build on that with The Swans visit tomorrow.
