The news we have all been waiting for may not be that far away anymore as Lyle Taylor, the club and Taylor’s representatives are currently in talks over a new deal for the top goalscorer.
It is no secret that we are lacking up top without Lyle and his recovery can’t come soon enough, but there’s no point looking forward to his return if we will lose him in January so this contract situation needs to get resolved and with Taylor being out injured until late October/beginning of November there is no better time to sign on the dotted line.
Speaking with The South London Press Lyle spoke about his contract
“From what I can gather there has been conversations had upstairs, if and when the club and my team can come to an agreement, I’ll stay.
“I don’t think there is a lot to say on it. If and when it happens everyone will know – I’m pretty sure I’ll start putting stuff on social media!”
We know all too well about his social media antics, I feel that’s another reason why we love him so much because he certainly loves to confuse us with his cryptic messages, we never really had someone like that before.
You have really got to praise him for his connection to the fans, he is such a good person with that side of things and he is very well respected by the supporters. Also, his campaign for Cancer Research is inspiring as he dyes his hair pink for October.
As everyone else I’m praying to god that he will sign a new deal, but only time will tell what’s going to happen in this situation.

“I’m happy, I’m scoring goals…well I was happy and scoring goals [until a knee injury]. I want to be back as soon as possible and scoring goals as soon as possible.
“I will pull the red and white shirt on again for this club and do my very best until the day comes – and it will come eventually in the future – that I don’t pull on that shirt again.”
