Huge Boost For Saturday

|

Ahead of Saturday’s game against 14th placed Accrington Stanley, the Addicks have been given a massive boost. Ben Reeves and Josh Cullen are back in contention to fill up our midfield once more. Injuries have been a real problem this season and now we finally have some good news!

Josh Cullen has been out since the Walsall game which was a Tuesday night in the West Midlands. That game took out two of our players including Igor Vetokele who is still yet to recover from a dislocated shoulder which was the same injury Josh Cullen suffered in the 2-0 victory at the Bescot Stadium.

When Walsall visited The Valley on New Year’s Day once again our team took a blow as Ben Reeves was substituted off because of a hamstring injury, seems like The Saddlers like a rough game! Fortunately, it’s only kept him out for two games as he will be in and around the squad as Lee Bowyer mentioned in his weekly press conference today.

It’s great to have them both back seeing as Joe Aribo is still unfit and that will add a lot more depth in our midfield and hopefully Josh Cullen can make those penetrating passes he is so good at!

Also, Jason Pearce is recovering well with a nice holiday, his protective boot has now come off and the pain is settling down, but we could be looking at another 3-4 weeks without our skipper. Naby Sarr has really stepped up his game since Pearcey has been out and I don’t think it’s going to be easy for Pearce to get back into the team despite him being our captain.
