Charlton Athletic v Accrington Stanley

|

Tomorrow we take on Accrington Stanley at The Valley in which should be a tough game. Although on paper it may seem like a walkover, as we know full well Accrington are not an easy team to get past as we tasted a draw at the Crown Ground in our only game against Stanley which was a 1-1 draw. With two injured players back in the team Ben Reeves and Josh Cullen will look to cement their place back in the first team as we kick off at 3 o’clock!

Let’s look at some facts

Founded-1968

Ground- Crown Ground (5,057)

Nickname- Stanley

Manager- John Coleman

Top scorer- Billy Kee (9)

Accrington Stanley was originally founded in 1891 but was dissolved in 1966 due to financial hardships. Accrington has been in the football league since 2006after winning the national league.

For Accy’s team news new signings Liam Gibson and Luke Armstrong could make the team, their goalkeeper Jonny Maxted is back after recovering from an illness.

With our team news, things are finally looking up for us after a disastrous last couple months regarding injuries, but now we have Ben Reeves and Josh Cullen returning. Captain Jason Pearce has had the ankle brace off and is now walking.

For the prediction we know this is not going to be an easy game Accrington can surprise you and I can see them not holding back against us. Accrington have won four of their last ten whilst we have won five of our last ten so almost the same record, but I believe we will overcome them and a 2-1 victory is on the cards.
